DL-Tyrosine(Cas 556-03-6) Usage

Chemical Properties

white powder

Uses

DL-Tyrosine is an aromatic nonessential amino acid synthesized from the essential amino acid phenylalanine. It is a precursor for several important neurotransmitters (epinephrine, norepinephrine, dopamine). The tyrosine of this diet was labeled by adding to it an amount of synthetic, isotopic dl-tyrosine cor- responding to twice that already present in the food. Incorporation of total C14 into muscle protein was reduced in 186-day infected mice fed dl-tyrosine-2-C-14 as compared to muscle proteins obtained from noninfected animals.
