DL-Pyroglutamic acid(Cas 149-87-1) Usage

Chemical Properties

white crystalline powder

Uses

DL-pyroglutamic acid (PCA) is used in the preparation of AZT steroid conjugates as potent anti-HIV agents. DL-pyroglutamic acid can be used as a novel heterogeneous catalyst for Suzuki–Miyaura coupling reactions.

Definition

ChEBI: An oxoproline having the oxo group placed at the 5-position. It is an intermediate metabolite in the glutathione cycle.
